UPS SOLUTIONS FOR EXPRESS5800 SERVERS & NEC STORAGE SYSTEMS
APC’s Smart-UPS® Uninterruptible Power Supplies offer great reliability, availability, and management to help protect your NEC Express5800
servers and NEC Storage subsystems and appliances from power outages and disturbances.
In addition to providing seamless battery backup, the UPS solutions effortlessly integrate with NEC’s ESMPRO® server management platform
and with the Microsoft® Windows® 2003 and Red Hat® Linux® operating systems for smooth unattended shutdowns when needed.
HOW TO CHOOSE AN UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY (UPS)
1 - Calculate the total VA (Volt x Ampere) power of the configuration to be connected to the UPS. (table 1)
2 - It is recommanded to allow some UPS power margin for future configuration expansion (ex: addition of future servers)
3 - Select the UPS corresponding to the calculated VA power and required autonomy (in minutes). (table 2)
