The NEC SI1720 has 6 hot-swap SAS/SATA hard disks, giving a total of 6TB,
and a redundant power supply.
• Storage capacity:
The NEC SI1520 offers 4 SAS/SATA hard disks and 4 x 5.25’’ bays
which can hold additional backup devices, for example tape (GoVault, DAT 72 USB,
DAT 160 USB, DLT-V4 ranges).

Compactness: The NEC SI1120R-1 takes the form of a 1U rack server compatible
with the Telecom format and less than 20» deep.

Comfort: Offered with NEC System Area Manager, a new solution for simple, open and
unified administration of a company’s entire infrastructure.

• Improve your performance
With the second generation of Intel® Xeon processors, either dual (Intel® Xeon 5200) or quad
core (Intel® Xeon 5400). Thanks to their 45nm technology, these processors deliver 25% more
performance for 40% less power consumption compared to the previous version.
• Manage your RAID solutions
All the servers share a new powerful, affordable, unified RAID secure data storage solution: a
single controller, included in the server motherboards, offers RAID 0, 1, 5 or 6, 128Mb or 256Mb
cache, with or without backup battery, on SAS or SATA disks simultaneously,
either 2.5 or 3.5 inch.
• Secure your data
With a new module, TPM 1.2 (Trusted Platform Module) as standard, a cryptographic system
allows users to increase the security of their data. This TPM 1.2 solution can be activated and
deactivated on request.
• Optimise and control your energy consumption
Thanks to the inclusion of a real-time energy supply control module as standard. This “Power Control” module allows
administrators to monitor and analyse their machines’ electricity consumption remotely.
• Manage the administration of your servers
Each NEC ExprEss5800 servers is delivered as standard with a complete remote management solution. This solution
generates maximum productivity levels and allows technical teams to limit callouts, thereby reducing support and
administration costs.
• Open, flexible NEC servers
NEC ExprEss5800 servers are certified for the following environments: Microsoft® Windows 2008 Server, Microsoft®
Windows 2003 Server, VMware and Redhat. They have also been tested for Mandriva, Fedora and Debian environments.
